BATHROOM: Cosmic Ray’s @ Magic Kingdom
This bathroom may not get the same fanfare as the Tangled village (maybe for good reason), but if you haven’t heard about Sonny Eclipse’s “office,” it’s time for you to take notice. Next time your bodily needs take you to the Magic Kingdom, make this your #1 choice for #1 or #2. It is, after all, a Certified Must Pee.
Ambiance 10/10
If for some reason you’re designing a theme park bathroom right now, TAKE NOTE OF THIS PLACE. This is what a trip to the tinkletorium was meant to be. The lighting here is absolutely perfect, as is the Tomorrowland audio track that aligns seamlessly with the restaurant and land. This is a rare occasion where the bathroom is actually more immersive than the location it’s in!
Decor 9/10
Just look at this place—it’s amazing! Have you ever seen such a beautiful light fixture in a bathroom? The stall doors are a great nod to the space theme, while the striking blue sink adds a great contrast and beauty to the room. While the wall and floor tiles are a little plain, it’s hard to care at all when you see the stunning sparkly/bubble thing. I don’t know what to call it because it’s truly otherworldly. All I know is it’s an art and an impressive one at that.
Facilities 9/10
The amazing ambiance and decor can overshadow the modern, everything-you-need facilities, but you’re sure to enjoy the cozy stalls with private overhead lighting, adult and child height sinks and urinals, elegant full length mirror, and speed dryers.
Privacy 7/10
This rating may be a tad generous, considering Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is a wildly popular quick service location with multiple Bays that almost make it multiple restaurants in one. Will you be alone in here? Probably not, but it’s a little bit out of the way down a hallway in the back of the building, which helps. You’ve got to see this place for yourself, so if you’re a little shy, I would recommend checking this out before or after lunch/dinner rushes.
