‘We’re looking forward to welcoming you back,’ Disney Releases Essential Guest Guidelines Ahead of Reopening
With Walt Disney World preparing to reopen to “Essential Guests,” many fans have found themselves wondering just what that means, and whether or not they qualify. Disney considers Essential Guests the guest who are most likely to help Disney make the most money possible in order to recover from the economic downturn brought on by the recent pandemic. To help determine if you and your friends or family will be allowed back onto Main Street, Disney has released the following guidelines:
ESSENTIAL GUESTS
- Platinum and Platinum Plus Passholders
- Deluxe Resort Guests
- DVC owners with a minimum of 550 points or 4 contracts
- Guests who have pre-purchased a minimum of $250 of merchandise
- Bloggers willing to interview people minding their own business
- Influencers who will lie to their followers about how safe they felt
- Animals with Disney-themed names (excl. Pluto)
- 6ft tall people (for measuring purposes)
- The NBA (excl. eliminated teams)
- Tim Tracker
NON-ESSENTIAL GUESTS
(including but not limited to)
- Single Day ticket holders
- Children under 12 who have not amassed a minimum of $75 in allowance or Disney Gift Cards
- Those who go to quick service restaurants only to ask for free cups of water
- Anyone who would wear a Birthday button in hopes of Cast Members wishing them a belated ‘happy birthday’ from mid-March
- All Cast Members
- disDumps Staff
- Michael Eisner
- Brer Rabbit
If you are unsure if you qualify as an Essential Guest, Disney is recommending you call guest services to find out before showing up to the parks. Please allow for 3-4 days on hold.
